Top Ten Tuesday

This week is Top Ten Authors I Wish Would Write Another Book. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Helene Hanff – I loved her books and wish she was still alive to write more. If only!

Markus Zusak – A wonderful writer and yes, I know, he is actually writing another book right now. I just wish he’d write a little quicker because I’m impatient. The Book Thief was so darn good, how can I not want more?

Irving Stone – One of my all time favorite authors, wrote plenty of books but I can always wish for more. If an author could write from beyond the grave, I have faith that Stone would do so.

Tea Obreht – I really enjoyed The Tiger’s Wife and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Jennifer Egan – I feel that Egan’s writing grew a lot in A Visit from the Goon Squad and I’m very excited to see what she writes next.

Steven Galloway – Hes only written a few books and I wish he’d write more! the Cellist of Sarajevo is lovely, I’d love to read 20 more just like it.

Anne Fadiman – Her essays about family and books are always amusing and fun to read. They are some of my favorite collections in my bookshelf.

J.K Rowling – I realize shes a bigillionaire and doesn’t need to write any more books, but I’d love to see a new series at Hogwarts or even at one of the other wizarding schools. (As long as its as good as the originals, of course.)

Neil Gaiman – I am always hoping for a new Gaiman book to read and love.

Jonathan Carroll – His books only appear every so often. I would be thrilled to see a new one soon. always.

Jasper Fforde – I love the Thursday Next series, but I think The Book World has so many opportunities for new books in it! I’d love to see a new series with new characters.

Also, I just wanted to include a big thank you to @LitChat for the books they sent me this week. If you love to talk about books, you should join in on the #LitChat  M,W,F 4-5pm et. Happy Reading!

  1. You have some great authors on this list. I’d like to read more by some of them as well!!

    Also!!

I’m doing A Week of Cinderella to celebrate Cinder on my blog. I see that you’re giving away the audio book. Can I link to your giveaway so that you can get more entries and new followers? 🙂 Let me know!

  2. Hopefully I’m not the only person on this planet left that hasn’t read HP series, but I do want J.K Rowling to write another book (series). I watched all the HP movies & therefore I’m sure her HP books are amazing and well written. SO another book written by her, I def. would buy it. 😉

    Great list!

    • haha you should read them! They are much better than the movies, and totally worth it. I do have a friend who hasn’t read them either, but I think you both need to start reading stat! 🙂

  3. Oh, Markus Zusak is one I’m always ready for another one from too! As I keep reading everyone else’s lists I find author’s I had temporarily forgotten about (which I guess is good because I wouldn’t have been able to choose just 10!)

  4. Cinder!! 🙂

Also, I haven’t read all of the authors on your list, but I do agree with quite a few other them! MUCH love to Marcus Zusak! Have you read I Am the Messenger?! There are days when I think I like that one even more than The Book Thief 🙂

As for JK Rowling, everyone is dying for more, but I feel kinda bad for her. No matter what she writes next, it’s not going to BE Harry Potter… That’s got to be incredibly intimidating… Although I have heard that she might be publishing anything else in the future under a pseudonym. Can’t say I’d blame her either…

    • No I haven’t! I will read I am the messenger immediately! I never heard it was as good, so I never sought it out. True for Rowling, but ya never know, maybe whatever she writes next will be magnificent too? I’d like to think its possible. But you’re right, Harry Potter is a hard legacy to live up too. Even for her.

      • Definitely read I Am the Messenger! It’s very different from TBT, but it’s one of those books that sneaks up on you, where you are halfway through the book before you realize how intensely amazing it is and you sit there wondering how on earth you lived for so long without having read this book before. I have so much love for that book! I find myself thinking about it at odd random moments. I really need to reread it soon.

  5. Ha ha, I had Markus Zusak on my list but then I deleted him to make way for someone else! It has been quite a while since The Book Thief hasn’t it? But I’m not gonna rush the man!

And I completely forgot to add Rowling! I’m kicking myself, though seeing as she’s on pretty much everyone else’s lists, I think we’ve got her covered! 😉

    Here’s my list.

    • Deleted him!? I am shocked! 🙂 Yes I hear hes been writing his new book for about 10 years now, I can’t wait to see how it turns out. True, Rowling is very well covered! I’ve seen her on a lot of lists.

  6. Great list! I didn’t add Steven Galloway to my list but I did wonder about whether or not he’s got any projects poised for publication. Same with Markus Zusak, I hope he comes out with something new soon (and in the meantime, I should check out his earlier work).

Cinder seems to be showing up a lot lately, maybe I should check it out sometime. Thanks for the teaser!

Here’s my TTT for this week if you’re interested in checking it out =)

  7. I agree with JK Rowling, but I really don’t know if I could think of 10, so I’m not posting my own one this week.
Hesitant about Cinder, but if you loved it then I’d give it a try.
I’m reading Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel right now. It’s SO GOOD!

  8. I’m a little ashamed to admit that I haven’t read a few of these authors. I’ll have to get on that! Thank you for the chance to win this audiobook, I’ve been looking for a good one to hold my attention while exercising. Anything to get my mind off what torture my body is going through lol.
